Beautiful Day at the Hen Party

Yesterday made up for the Hell Week. Mom and my friend, who we will call Jackie-O, came in the morning and I lead them in yoga, we had muffins and Chai for breakfast, and then we began to work on our individual quilts. Jackie-O is working on a gift for her neice, a beautiful hand-pieced Grandmother's Flower Garden. She is learning the blanket stitch to applique the flowers to a plain square. It is looking good and she is improving with every "lesson".

Mom and I both worked on and finished a baby quilt to donate to Project Linus. (see pics above) http://www.projectlinus.org/index.shtml Check them out if you are crafty or quilty. The goal this year to make one quilt per month to donate. January quilt: done!!

It feels really good to spend a day creating something and working on a quilt is special magic. The colors, the pattern, the process...all magic. Knowing that a baby will be wrapped in your quilt is magic too!
