Frugal Friday

Frugal Friday has arrived and I haven't done anything exceptionally frugal this week...that isn't to say that I wasn't frugal, I was, I just didn't re-purpose anything or discover something new. With that said, we function frugally everyday and this is one of our favorite recipes: Dom's Mom's Spaghetti sauce (the way we make it)

Start your water for the pasta. (Store brand organic is under $2 for a pound)
Heat a skillet and add a splash of olive oil
When the oil is hot, add diced onions and bell pepper if you have it (we usually don't)
Add some garlic; diced, sliced or otherwise mutilated
Saute' until the onions are clear-ish
Add one 28 oz. can of diced tomatoes (we use the store brand organics for $1.49 a can)
Add basil, oregano (dried or fresh), salt and pepper to taste
Simmer awhile.
Serve over your pasta with some parm.

Yummy, fast, and cheap.
