Daily rambles about quilting, gardening, reading, cooking and just plain old being.

The pond was frozen over this morning and just near the edge were six turtles, one a momma and baby. I felt a little panicked....can they breathe under there? My hubs asked, "what do you think happens up North when all the ponds freeze in the winter? There are still turtles in the Spring."

But I still had to bust the ice with a shovel and make air holes. I sort of sympathized....I spend lots of days feeling like that, trapped under the ice, looking up and seeing the sky, but unable to get out. That is how depression feels to me, but I never would have thought of that analogy without seeing those turtles trapped under there in the cold water.
