Girl's Best Friend

This is my mutt Mesa....dumped on the side of the road with her brother, starving, cold, and lonely. They lived on my mom's "farm" totally outside dogs, with a deluxe dog house as their only luxury. Mom gave them two meals a day, fresh water, and pats on the head with friendly words.

Long story short, Mesa came to live with us just before we sent Birdy to Doggie Heaven. She has become my best friend, loyal and protective....always at my side, always checking on me when we walk, never too far ahead.

Today as we cleared brush and constantly called Japhy (the smartest dog ever) back to us, Mesa stayed nearby where she could keep me in her sights. This girl is a true-blue friend.
