Shop Hop: Day One

I had a lovely day with my mom today on the first hop of our silly little summer shop hop. We went to Stephenville, TX to The Flying Needle. We both had a pattern (though Mom waffled a little) and we both stayed under $10.00 which is kind of hard to do! We each bought four Fat Quarters and when I got home I raided my stash and found several others that will work too. I'm going cheesy-easy with big blocks, wide sashing, and a few applique birds...nothing fancy. Mom, of course, is going "old-school" and complicated and hers will be twice as nice as mine, but I will finish in half the time. (SO THERE!)
