I didn't announce my absence (no one reads this anyway), but we headed off to Utah for a couple of weeks. We went to explore the San Rafael Swell and did a little hiking. The whole trip was bittersweet....sweet to be outdoors, camping, and hiking....bitter because my Japhy-J was struggling so much. I've been hiking with Japhy for a decade, since he was 8 weeks old. This trip his ears would perk up and his eyes were bright and excited, but his hips just wouldn't cooperate. We spent a lot of time lifting him in and out of the car and coaxing him along. My heart is breaking...
