A storm swept through last night and knocked the plums from my friend's tree. This morning she brought me a large bag and tonight I am cooking them down to make jam. We seem to be making a lot of jam this year....I am trying to embrace what we have and not be disappointed about what we don't have or when things inexplicably die or don't produce. Our summer is already hotter than it should be this time of year and I am struggling to find a balance between keeping seemingly non-productive things alive and wasting water.
